The reason why pedophilia is so widespread

Jeffrey Epstein (1953 – 2019) was a famous North American convicted child sex offender. He owned a small private island in the United States Virgin Islands. He was accused of allegedly inviting many elite and prominent men to his island for the purpose of offering them the opportunity to have sex with children.

In 2008, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison and officially registered as a sexual offender. He was indicted in 2019 for sexual trafficking of children in the 2000s.

After his death in 2019, the public release of “the Epstein files” provided a glimpse into the huge social network of elite and prominent individuals that he had cultivated. The people mentioned in the “the Epstein files” included billionaires, CEOs, tech titans, presidents, prime ministers, princes, politicians, government officials, Wall Street power brokers, and more.

They denied having sex with children. However, some of them maintained friendships with Epstein even after news reports made him widely known as an alleged abuser of young girls (according to the Associated Press in February 2026).

Power disparity in sexual relationships

Consider the following example of someone's argumentation in support of having sex when a power disparity exists between the two people.

“I find it incredible to see how many people believe that they are entitled to arbitrarily decide that sex is sexual abuse whenever a power disparity exists. Individual circumstances need to be taken into account. It's not fair to make a blanket rule that covers anyone and everyone.

The people that say it's sexual abuse claim that it's impossible for consent to be freely given when a power disparity exists even if both people express their consent to have sex. Those people are like arrogant, authoritarian rulers, trying to force their beliefs on all of us with no regard for individual differences and the complex nature of sexual relationships.

They are incredibly arrogant in their certainty that it's definitely abusive just because a power disparity exists. They demand that everyone blindly accept their opinions without thinking about it, and without allowing for the individual differences between people and the many differences in personality and sexual preferences.”

The argumentation sounds like it could be reasonable until you realize that it is pedophilia in disguise – a subtle attempt to justify sex with children. It was not written by Epstein, but it is plausible that someone like him (or one of his guests) would write or speak in support of power disparities.

Consider the power disparity and the degree of abuse in the following cases:

• A wealthy man offering vulnerable children in foster care large sums of money to work in a brothel on his private island.

• A schoolteacher fucking children in school (students).

• A staff member in a kindergarten fucking the children or “educating” them about sex because children are supposedly “sexual beings from birth”.

• A police officer arresting a teenager that was making graffiti and then fucking him/her in exchange for ignoring the vandalism.

• A priest fucking children that attend his church, choir, camp, etc.

• A 55yo boss/employer fucking a vulnerable 17yo employee, apprentice, or intern that is afraid of losing the job that he/she needs to survive.

• A foster parent believing that he/she is entitled to have sex with the children in his/her care because he/she “works so hard” to care for other people's children.

Sadly, some people use their power to fulfill their desire to fuck children, and they abuse children in the process. We should investigate the origin of their pedophilia.

The co-evolution of monogamy and pedophilia

Unfortunately and disturbingly, the evolution of pedophilia and the evolution of monogamy are linked.

Evolution is an automatic process that operates in nature without a brain or an intelligent designer to guide it. Evolution has no ethics. It mindlessly favors whichever methods increase reproductive success (number of descendants) regardless of whether those methods are ethical or unethical.

Consequently, with no ethical rules to restrain it, evolution promotes the following patterns:

• The more monogamous a primate species is, the more that pedophilia evolves and spreads.

• The more polygamous a primate species is, the more that the males have no interest in sex with children, because polygamous sex with children produces no more children.

Humans are primates, thus the same pattern applies. Therefore, if all humans were strictly and strongly monogamous, then all humans would eventually evolve into pedophiles.

In comparison, chimpanzees practice no monogamy at all. They are promiscuous and entirely polygamous. Consequently, male chimpanzees prefer older females that are capable of producing babies and competently caring for babies. This makes perfect sense, because this preference maximizes the number of descendants that a male chimpanzee produces.

Note that chimpanzees do not form long-term relationships, and male chimpanzees do not assist in the care of children (the mothers are all single mothers).

If a male chimpanzee was ever born with a pedophilic genetic mutation that caused him to feel sexually attracted to prepubescent females instead of mature females, then this pedophilic mutation would quickly become extinct, because he would have fewer descendants or none at all.

In contrast, pedophilic genes in humans did not become extinct, because historically pedophilic men did produce many descendants, because these men formed long-term monogamous relationships with female children (including marriages).

Although the girl was initially infertile, the couple stayed together long enough for the girl to grow into a woman and start reproducing. This behavior enabled the propagation of genes for pedophilia combined with monogamy.

The ruthless advantages of marrying a prepubescent girl

Unfortunately, in the past, there were ruthless advantages to marrying a girl before she reached puberty, provided that the couple stayed together in a long-term monogamous relationship.

Historically, a prepubescent girl was much less likely to infect a man with an incurable sexually-transmitted infection such as syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, fungal infections, etc.

She was also most likely a virgin and had no prior children, thus the pedophilic man was not forced to support another man’s children. Remember, proper contraception was invented only very recently whereas humans have been evolving for thousands of years.

For example, if the year was 1400 and a woman was 20-25 years old, then there was a substantial risk that she was already infected with one or more viruses or bacteria, and she already had at least one or two children from a different man.

A man could avoid these disadvantages by marrying a child instead. Choosing a child could also save his life, because syphilis was often deadly in the past. Nowadays syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, etc. are curable.

Please note that I am strongly opposed to child marriage and sex with children. I am only explaining how evolution operates. Evolution is not an ethical process. It is brutal.

Women can be pedophiles as well

Some people believe in a stereotype that presents pedophiles as being always male, but many different pieces of evidence prove that pedophiles of both genders exist.

A related issue is that pedophilia (or educator sexual misconduct) is a serious problem in schools. For example, more than 1 out of every 10 children (11.6% of children) received sexual comments or sexual images from teachers or other staff members at schools, and 15% of the perpetrators were women, according to a study conducted by the department of psychology at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York in May 2022.

There is no apparent reproductive advantage for women to evolve sexual attraction to boys. If anything, it should reduce their reproductive success. The most likely explanation is genetic crossover, meaning that pedophilia evolved in males and then accidentally spread to a percentage of females. Alternatively, the evolution of pedophilia was never 100% successful in limiting the behavior to males.

Alternatively, evolution may have gotten somewhat confused or mixed up by the intended direction of age preferences in women. Historically, young women had greater reproductive success when they were attracted to older men. For example, a pregnant 18yo woman and her baby were more likely to survive with an experienced/proven 30yo man than an inexperienced 18yo man.

Thus, women are supposed to be attracted to men older than themselves, and not to men younger than themselves. This mechanism appears to have mutated or failed in a minority of women.

What happens when boys are fucked by their teachers?

Some people claim that boys enjoy it and are not harmed when one of their female teachers fucks them in school. Some people even claim that it makes the boys happier and more confident, and that “the law is blind” when female teachers are prosecuted for fucking their students.

When a teacher has sex with a student, it is worse than when a random woman has sex with a teenager. Unlike other women, a teacher can blackmail or pressure a boy by saying or implying something like:

“Give me cunnilingus if you want to pass this year.”

“Fuck me hard and make me cum if you want good grades.”

“You failed to bring me to orgasm this time. That's an F grade, you know. I hope you'll do better next time.”

Even if she makes no threats, a boy can still suffer stress and anxiety about the possibility and consequences of failing to please his teacher.

One time, I talked with a man that was a victim of a female teacher when he was a boy in school. He told me:

“After it happened, I couldn't trust women anymore. I thought women were mostly good and kind until she shattered my beliefs about women. I couldn't handle it.”

She caused so much psychological damage to him that he was unable to form a relationship with any woman until sometime after age 40. He was able to have sex with women, but only casual sex and no relationships. Thus, the teacher caused a type of attachment disorder in him.

A teacher has a caregiving responsibility (a duty of care) and a position of authority that can be abused. A power disparity exists. When teachers fuck boys before they are mature enough to handle it, and/or when teachers abuse their power over boys and violate the duty of care, the boys suffer psychological damage of varying degrees. Both male and female pedophiles are harmful to children.

Prevalence of pedophilia

The prevalence of pedophilia is higher than people realize or want to acknowledge. When men search for their favorite kind of pornography in pornography websites, the most common word that they type in the search box is “teens”.

The word “teenager” covers the age range from thirteen to nineteen. This is convenient for pedophiles, because when they search for “teens”, they wish to find 13yo or 14yo girls (or even younger), but if they were ever accused of pedophilia, then they could lie and claim that they meant nineteen when they searched for “teens” every day for years.

The DSM-5 (published in 2013 by the American Psychiatric Association) provides only an estimation of the prevalence. It states:

“The population prevalence of pedophilic disorder is unknown. The highest possible prevalence for pedophilic disorder in the male population is approximately 3%–5%.”

5% is surely an underestimation, because the majority of pedophiles never admit to pedophilia (especially considering that sex with children is statutory rape). Furthermore, most pedophiles do the right thing, meaning they ignore their attraction to children and never act on it.

Even if 5% is correct, it is still a huge number of pedophiles. The population of the USA in 2024 was approximately 340 million. 5% of that means at least 8.5 million male pedophiles in the USA and 204 million male pedophiles in the world.

The relevance of attraction to feminine curves

The majority of men feel sexually attracted to a woman's curvy feminine body shape. However, some men do not like womanly curves, and these men usually have pedophilia or at least a susceptibility to pedophilia.

It is also a matter of degree. Men with a stronger preference for young females tend to be less interested in a woman's curves. In contrast, men that feel strongly attracted to very curvy women tend to feel attracted to women aged between 20 and 40 and no children at all. Thus, a man's risk of pedophilia increases as his attraction to curves decreases.

Opposition to abortion is driven by pedophilia

People that want to ban abortion often have pedophilia. Sadly, a disturbingly large number of men and women are sexually aroused and excited by the thought of raping teenage girls and forcing them to be breeders for rapists or religious extremists/cults or relatives (incest). For example, a religious cult member may say something like this:

“Abortion must be made illegal, including in cases of rape or incest. Although rape and incest are bad, murdering children in the womb is far worse.”

As if a child could fit inside a uterus! The uterus never contains a child. It contains only an embryo, a fetus, or a baby, depending on the timing. Abortions are only performed at the early stage (embryo or fetus, not a baby, not a child).

When a religious extremist wants to ban abortion even in the case of a 12yo girl that was raped and impregnated, pedophilia is the underlying cause of the ban on abortion. However, pedophilia is widely considered to be depraved and immoral. Consequently, the pedophiles lie about their reason for wanting to ban abortion.

They know very well that abortion is not the killing of any children in the womb. They say this fake reason to conceal their real reason – their pedophilia.

What to do if you feel attracted to children

People that feel sexual attraction to children should strenuously suppress/ignore their desire to have sex with children and never act on it, because sex with children is unethical and harmful.

If you inherited a harmful sexual behavior such as pedophilia, sadism, or masochism, then I suggest that you seriously consider doing all of the following:

• Never engage in the bad sexual behavior in real life.

• Never fantasize about the bad sexual behavior.

• Never watch any pornographic videos or images that depict the bad sexual behavior.

• Never masturbate or orgasm while fantasizing about, reading about, or watching videos or images depicting the bad behavior, because this activity could potentially strengthen your arousal in response to the bad behavior and thereby worsen your problem.

• Visit a psychologist and get professional advice about how to solve the problem as much as possible.

⚠️ Important: If you make yourself orgasm while engaging in (or fantasizing about) a harmful activity, then your orgasms (over time) may worsen your disorder by increasing the strength of your sexual arousal in response to the harmful activity and the strength of your desire to do it again in future.

Self-delusion occurs frequently

Many people use the following emotional thought process:

1. “If X is true, then I would be sad or upset or guilty.”

2. “I do not want to be sad or upset or guilty.”

3. “Therefore, I believe that X is not true.”

That is self-delusion or self-deception. It occurs frequently.

For that reason, I expect that many people will strenuously ignore all the evidence and all the logic and reasoning, and they will deceive themselves by angrily insisting that there is no connection between monogamy and pedophilia.
